computer graphic assignment 2

in this semester, our computer graphic class's teacher taught us about the software "Flash". It is a wonderful tool to create simple animation. In our assignment 2, we were asked to create a short flash of a topic "1 Malaysia".

the short flash i created only consist 15 seconds. the following are the steps i done for my assignment 2.

step 1:
in order to manipulate every object easier later, i divide everything in to different layers and name them accordingly. after that, i press F8 to convert everything in movie clips.

step 2:
i create folders to sort related object into the same folder, so that my documents are more organized and easy to be review.

step 3:
my flash was based on the movement of pictures and words, so i 1st made sure that my background is always in view till the last frame by pressing F5 at frame 360th.

step 4:
in order to emphasize on the word Malaysia, i made the word swooshed out the screen by using the swoosh effect under motion preset. after that, i made sure i create another frame of the word "Malaysia" till frame 360th after the motion to insure my typography did not disappear.

step 5:
i then used motion preset again to create zoom-in-2D effect to the Chinese kid image.

step 6:
i used zoom-out-2D effect under motion preset to emphasize the main race of our country, and on the other hand, i made that image zoomed out is because it is a picture that showed happiness of children and togetherness.

step 7:
as i had already used 3 effects before hand, this time i did not use any special effect as i do not wish to overdo the flash. i used empty frames before hand, and by the time i reaches frame 175th i press F6 so that i can insert the image.

step 8:
i used fly-in-left effect under motion preset at frame 218th to start the message that i wanted to show in this short flash.

step 9:
on the 2nd text, i played with slow to fast zoom in effect for the word "power" byclicking the object , then go to motion edition, drag my simple slow button to +100, and lastly made sure i i clicked "simple slow" at the basic motion, so that my effect will works.

after all the setting, i start dragging my word from the end point to the left, so that later on it will zoom into the image.

step 10:
there is no effect on the words " ruin everything...." with the same reason stated above. but made sure the image start showing at frame 272th.

step 11:
on frame 315 to 337th, i divided the key frames into equal proportion of 4 to make fade in effect. the effect was done by clicking the picture before hand and go to properties, under style select alpha. then i adjusted the opacity of the object accordingly to show nicer effect which is very uniform.

creative study assignment 2

The Enchantments of Music in Creative Multimedia
This is the 2nd project in creative study in semester 2. We were told to use all the method learn from this overall semester and product a final project which is related to creative multimedia in a groups of 5. Our team members consist of

after a lot of discussion, we came to a conclusion to do a project based on the title "The Enchantments of Music in Creative Multimedia" the following is the process of what we had sketched, mind-mapped and in the end product a short video clips consisting of music with drawings.

this is the 1st mind map that we came to. after consultation from our lecturer, we found that the mind map is unsuitable as it is too general and does not have a focus of topic on it.

this is the 2nd mind map we came to conclusion. however the info was too little. so we redo it of the 3rd time and came to the final one that we all agreed on.

after that we picked up some random word in order to find some characteristic of the random word selected to relate to our topic. the leader then wrote an essay of 800 words to describe what are we going to present about.

we then took another consultation with our teacher. the teacher conclude that our sketches consist of something in comment, which is a flow which represent the flow of music. the lecturer suggested that we use hands to make it looks like it is dancing with the music, and we took that option and turn it to foot steps.

all our footstep frames was edited using photoshop with an original footstep so that all our group members will follow the same image as we goes along then edit process.

one of our group member is responsible to do the edit of the music to make some part to fast pace while some to slower pace. our leader are responsible to do the final combination of the video with the frames produce by others teams members. while the other 3 members produce frames over frames of footstep to suit the music.

The final out come of our group work is, we produced a short video clips titled "truant of a student" its story is mainly about a student playing truant but was caught by the teacher. the below is our video clip.

week8-- exercise

by using a random object (cat)we were asked to create an object that is scary and look harmful to human that can last for 100 years.

the characteristic that i choose from the cat are below:

tail (long)
to create a trap that will tangle or hang a person who pass into it


fang (sharp)
to create an object that is sharp on the surface so that no one can touch it


eyes (glow)
to create an object that is so bright that a person can not open their eyes when they are near the object


fur (surface)
to create a surface with dark gray color which look slimy and sticky


claw (sharp)
to create a protection to the object that will cut a person hand if they try to take the object

color ( yellow)
make an object with yellow color to show a sign of warning by our sub-conscious mind

week8 -- random words

this week our teacher say that most people always look for easy way out. whenever we faced a problem we tend to react by avoiding the problem, that is why we are outsmarted by other people. this indirectly means that in desperate moment, we will show an opening for smart people to attack out weak spot.

however, with correct method we can gain what we wan. for example, people use stereotypical answer to avoid the real reason behind a change or obstacle.

one of a creative way to solve a problem is to pick a random word out from a random source, take its characteristic but not the word itself and make it into a effective solution.

in the petal of a flower, i can see a spider crawling out from it.

i stand on a flying machine and feel the wind hitting on me.

no matter how good a bird can fly, in the end it will drop back to the root of a tree.

Just like time represent gold,

concept of pain ( ice-cream)pain is sometimes like an ice-cream,
we know it is harmful but we still craving for it,

and caused side effect,
